Recipe:
Ingredients (Serves 6)
1 & 1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup warm water
1 teaspoon yeast
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 & 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 & 1/2 tablespoon oil for cooking
Method:
Mix water, yeast, and sugar and let it sit for at least 10 minutes (Mixture should have some bubbles on top)
Now add yogurt, milk, and oil.
Knead and mix dough lightly with hands or low speed KitchenAid.
You may also finish kneading on a countertop until smooth.
Then lightly oil an empty bowl and place dough inside and cover it with foil or plastic wrap for at least an hour.
When ready to cook, divide dough into 6 equal parts.
Place a skillet on the stovetop under medium heat.
Roll out one piece of dough and place on the skillet when ready.
You may add 1/4-1/2 teaspoon oil to the pan and cook on both sides until you see golden brown spots.
Once you remove from the pan you may also spread butter on top.
You may also make a butter and garlic paste to spread on naan as well.
Garlic paste may be made with 2 teaspoon butter and 1 small clove garlic blend.
